The tomb and memorial sit in old xã An Đức, 2 km from the center of thị trấn Ba Tri, on tỉnh lộ 885 through Giồng Trôm. The ground is now in xã Ba Tri. The tomb stayed where it was. It has been a national historic relic since 27 April 1990, on 13,000 m².

Nguyễn Đình Chiểu was born on 1 July 1822. He lived and worked here. The culture days run 30 June–2 July, and the day itself is 1 July on the solar calendar. The program includes đờn ca tài tử, a costume play of Lục Vân Tiên and Kiều Nguyệt Nga, recited verse, drum, traditional martial arts, a feast, and yard games.
