Cham Islands
Snorkel over coral in the Cu Lao Cham marine reserve, then eat seafood in Bai Lang. The islands sit off Hoi An, a morning boat from Cua Dai, with Hai Tang pagoda in the village and a homestay night after the day boats leave.

You snorkel over coral off Hòn Lao, the forested ridge, the houses on the shore, and the boats in the same view. Hòn Lao is the largest island and the only one with residents. A night here is a village house in Bai Lang after the day boats have gone back to Cửa Đại. Most visits are a day on the water, not a hotel night.
Snorkel with a permitted operator. Service-zone shores named for swimming and snorkel swimming include Bãi Xếp, Bãi Chồng, Bãi Bìm, and Bãi Hương, plus the named water at Hòn Dài. Restoration water under tight control includes Rạn Mè – Bãi Ông, Hòn Tai, Hòn Dài, Rạn Mành, and Bãi Nần. The strict zone is closed to snorkeling and swimming. Stay if the hamlet after the day boats leave is the trip. Go back to Hoi An if you wanted the old town, and do not put My Son on the same morning as the 08:00 pier.
Bai Lang is the landing. Hải Tạng stands in Xóm Cấm there, facing the fields called Đồng Chùa. It was built in 1758, about 200 metres northeast of today’s site, and moved in 1848 after storm damage. A 2002 repair, a lotus pond, and a 3.5 metre Quan Âm stand in front of the three-door gate. It is a national relic from 2006. Breakfast stalls line the Bai Lang coast road, and the evening meal sits around 17:00–18:00.
Common questions
- Does the 70,000 VND visit fee include the boat?
- No. The reserve visit is 70,000 VND per person per visit from 10 June 2026. A city tourism list also names 20,000 VND sanitation, with ticket sales 07:00–16:00. The boat is a separate charge. Snorkeling is with a permitted operator, and that add-on is separate too.
