You stand at Cape Ca Mau, the southernmost point, mangrove and mudflat in front of you where the East Sea meets the West Sea. The ship-shaped panel has been in place since the end of 2020, and the GPS0001 marker closes đường Hồ Chí Minh. U Minh Hạ is the other forest, melaleuca on peat north of the city, a different gate from this cape.

Work on the road-end marker started on 15 February 2017, at an investment of about 70 billion đồng. The same ground names the sea wall and Cột cờ Hà Nội. Two tidal regimes meet here and new mudflats form. A wetland point is also 08°41'00"N 104°47'32"E. Neither reading is the city center. Sleep in the river wards, phường An Xuyên and phường Tân Thành, beside the older phường numbers. A night at ấp Mũi, xã Đất Mũi, is the other bed, and only when the dawn inside the gate is the point. Stay when the cape is the trip. Go to Cần Thơ when that river city is the trip.

The mangrove behind the tip is Vườn quốc gia Mũi Cà Mau. Decision 142/2003/QĐ-TTg of 14 July 2003 upgraded it from the Đất Mũi nature reserve of Decision 194/CT on 9 August 1986. The area is over 41,800 hectares, and also 41,862 hectares, about 13,400 hectares of mangrove and about 26,000 hectares of mudflat. Designation dates are 13/12/12, site number 2088, 27 November 2012, 2013, and 12 December 2013. This park, U Minh Hạ, and the west-coast belt are cores of the 2009 biosphere reserve. Cảng hàng không Cà Mau, IATA CAH, is the airport. One account puts it in phường 6, about 10 km from the center and 20–30 minutes in, with xe ôm at 60,000 VND and taxi at 150,000 VND, to be agreed before the ride. Another puts số 93 đường Lý Thường Kiệt, phường 6, and 2 km to the center, taxi 5–10 minutes and 70,000–100,000 VND, xe ôm 5–10 minutes and 20,000–40,000 VND. Commercial flights are set to resume 29 November 2026 after more than a year stopped for an upgrade, Vietnam Airlines on an A321, Ho Chi Minh City to Cà Mau 12:50–13:55, return 14:50–15:50, fare 924,000–964,000 VND including the ticketing fee. The direct flight is also listed as operating, about 1 hour 10 minutes, one flight a day, with fares from 955,181 VND and from 1,206,000 VND, and seats on dates that include 28 November 2026. There is no passenger station to take. The Mekong Delta has had no railway since the Sài Gòn–Mỹ Tho line stopped in 1958. A pre-feasibility line runs 175.2 km from ga An Bình to ga Cần Thơ, through Ho Chi Minh City, Tây Ninh, Đồng Tháp, Vĩnh Long, and Cần Thơ, with twelve main stations, a hoped start at the end of 2027, and phase 1 basically finished in 2035. Cà Mau is not a station on that scheme. A later Cần Thơ–Cà Mau line has no decided alignment or year. The expressway is 110.85 km, and also nearly 111 km of main line plus nearly 26 km of link roads. It opened for traffic at 11:00 on 19 January 2026. The Hậu Giang–Cà Mau section is 73.2 km. The Cần Thơ–Hậu Giang section had been open since 22 December 2025. Speed is 80 km/h maximum and 60 km/h minimum. Motorbikes, bicycles, and people on foot are not allowed. The ride is 1.5 hours, from 3 hours before, also about 90 minutes, and one driver that morning took more than 1 hour 15 minutes. The Hậu Giang–Cà Mau section was paused on 16 March 2026 for unfinished drains, slopes, and shoulders, and the full line was to reopen at 11:30 on 29 April 2026. The Cần Thơ end is at phường Cái Răng, off the Nam Sông Hậu / Quốc lộ 91B road, near Cảng Cái Cui. The Cà Mau end is IC12, xã Hồ Thị Kỷ, on đường Hành lang ven biển phía Nam, or đường Xuyên Á. South of the city, đường Hồ Chí Minh runs 58.7 km from cầu Ông Tình at Năm Căn to Khu du lịch Đất Mũi, xã Đất Mũi, huyện Ngọc Hiển. That project starts at Năm Căn, not at the city. Phase 1 was finished in 2016. The alignment is cấp III đồng bằng, design speed 80 km/h, and the cross-section still matches cấp V, about 40 km/h, on a sealed coat. Four bridges, Rạch Tàu, Rạch Vàm, Xóm Mũi, and Rạch Bầu Nhỏ, are at a 60 km/h design. An upgrade to a real cấp III road was proposed at about 4,204.1 billion đồng, with a hoped finish in 2027 if approved, a hope stated in 2023. The cape is more than 100 km from the city, and mũi Bãi Bùng is 34 km southwest of thị trấn Năm Căn. The road is also 100–110 km and 2.5–3.5 hours, more than 50 km and more than 1 hour on Quốc lộ 1 to Năm Căn, plus more than 50 km on the Hồ Chí Minh road. Motorbikes can use this road. A canoe from Năm Căn is named. Bến xe Cà Mau is on đường Lý Thường Kiệt, phường 6, phone 02903 811 063, about 9.3 km and about 15 minutes from the center, with local buses to Năm Căn, Sông Đốc, Thới Bình, U Minh, Phước Long, and Ngã Năm, at 05:00–17:00 with a bus every 15 minutes.
