Son Tra’s roads are open again, and the forest is not a tour
The peninsula’s management board reopened sightseeing on 14 October after a weather closure that began on 8 October. It also says unlicensed treks into the special-use forest are not allowed. No entrance fee is in the notice.

You can drive Son Tra again. Văn Hóa, quoting the Management Board of Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang’s tourist beaches, said sightseeing resumed on 14 October 2026. The board had stopped it on 8 October because forecasts of heavy rain brought a risk of landslides and flash floods. The reopening comes with a short list: stay on the permitted roads, keep out of restricted areas, take care on the steep bends, don’t leave litter, and don’t feed wild animals.
The forest is a separate rule, and it is firmer. The same report says Son Tra Nature Reserve has not been approved for an ecotourism, resort, and entertainment scheme. Going into the special-use forest to run a trek, a wildlife watch, or a night walk, without permission, is not allowed. The board asks visitors not to buy those tours, and asks businesses not to sell them. No entrance fee appears in the notice. Check on arrival.
