Passenger vehicles are stopped short of Lô Lô Chải, on two printed start dates
Tuổi Trẻ and Znews both stop passenger vehicles on the road into Lô Lô Chải through 28 February 2027. One dates the scheme from 15 October. The other quotes the chairman from 17 October. The flag-tower stop is weekends only.
Village road in force on 23 October 2026 under both reports, through 28 February 2027. Flag tower: Saturday and Sunday. A fare: Check on arrival.
A passenger vehicle does not drive itself into Lô Lô Chải. Tuổi Trẻ on 21 October, citing the People’s Committee of Lũng Cú commune in Tuyên Quang, said the traffic scheme for the buckwheat festival and the 2026 tourism season runs from 15 October 2026 to 28 February 2027. On the road into the village, from the junction at the Lũng Cú boarding primary school and the junction at Tiệm Cơm Vị Nhà, it stops every passenger vehicle and trucks carrying construction materials. Znews on 22 October quotes the commune chairman, Trần Đức Chung, with a different start for that village stop: 17 October 2026 through 28 February 2027, on the same two junctions. Znews does not mention construction trucks. Friday 23 October is after both start dates, so the village rule is the one in force today. The flag-tower road is a weekend rule in both reports: Saturday and Sunday, on the stretch from the border-guard post up to the tower, from 15 October 2026 through 28 February 2027. Friday sits outside that line.
Who may still pass is where the two reports split. Tuổi Trẻ prints one allowed list after both rules: vehicles on duty, four-wheeled motor vehicles that carry tourists inside the commune, the commune’s self-managed motorbike-taxi group, and vehicles belonging to residents of Lô Lô Chải. Znews gives the village those same four, then gives the flag-tower road a shorter list and leaves the residents’ vehicles off it. Both name the same parking yards. The guest-house yard takes vehicles under seven seats, motorbikes, and scooters. The primary-school yard, the secondary-school yard, the old market, and the commune People’s Committee yard take cars and motorbikes. After you leave the car, the ride onward is one of the vehicles the commune still allows. Neither report prints a fare. Check on arrival.
The province’s own portal, dated 22 October, is a separate page, and it has not published that parking map. It sets the opening of the 12th buckwheat-flower festival at 20:00 on 25 October at Youth Square in Đồng Văn commune, under the title “Âm vang miền đá”. It lists 23 October as a Lô Lô culture day and a Vietnam–China cultural exchange, and it prints neither an hour nor a place for that day. Check on arrival. On the flowers, it says the first sowing is in bloom and setting seed, with the fullest bloom expected at the opening, and the second sowing is starting to bud. It counts 293.37 hectares planted of a 400-hectare plan, in 13 of 22 communes, including 100 hectares in Đồng Văn, 50 in Sà Phìn, 47 in Phố Bảng, and 39.4 in Lũng Cú, with flowers already out along National Highway 4C. The same meeting was still working out a detailed traffic plan and how service fees would be managed. It prints no fee. Check on arrival. The photograph is the Lung Cu flag tower. The file is dated 6 December 2014 and captions the tower in Ha Giang. The 2026 notices put the weekend restriction on the road up to the national flag tower in Lũng Cú commune, Tuyên Quang.
