Forty-nine cruise ships have already called at Ha Long this year
The Ha Long cruise port told Quảng Ninh newspaper that 49 international ships brought nearly 59,000 passengers in nine months. About 20 to 25 more are scheduled before the end of the year.
Port figures published 3 October 2026, for January–September.
The late-season calls are still ahead of you. On 3 October, Bùi Quang Tuấn, managing director of the Ha Long International Cruise Port branch, told Quảng Ninh’s newspaper that the first nine months of 2026 brought 49 international cruise ships and nearly 59,000 passengers. Five of those ships, in the third quarter alone, brought more than 8,100 people. Between the interview and the end of the year, he said, roughly 20 to 25 more international ships are scheduled to dock. The same piece gives the wider province: about 18.8 million visitors in nine months, of whom about 4.21 million came from abroad, and tourism revenue of about 56.4 trillion đồng. The year-end target printed there is more than 23 million visitors and upwards of 71 trillion đồng.
What those passengers can do ashore is sketched, not priced. The paper says Chinese visitors are more than 35 percent of international arrivals, by land, air, and sea. Nguyễn Thế Huệ of the Quang Ninh Tourism Association said an autumn-winter stimulus campaign includes more than 20 hotels of three to five stars, with reductions from 20 percent to more than 60 percent, bundled with meals and wellness. The article does not name the hotels. It also points passengers at three-plank wooden boats, luxury cruises, a 3D-mapping light show, and Soi Sim beach. The province’s stock of beds, in the same report, is more than 1,370 accommodation places and 32,696 rooms, plus 109 overnight cruise vessels with 1,967 cabins. The photograph is cruise boats at the harbour, with the islands behind them. It is not a roll call of the 49 ships.
