Thirteen bus routes now bend around Metro Line 2

From 10 October, 13 bus routes are diverted for construction of Metro Line 2 between Ben Thanh and Tham Luong. The changes sit on Cach Mang Thang Tam, Nguyen Thi Minh Khai, and the streets around Tao Dan and Bay Hien.

The next metro is still a hole in the street, and the buses are the ones making room. The Ho Chi Minh City Public Transport Management Centre told Dân trí that 13 services would be rerouted from 10 October for Metro Line 2, Ben Thanh to Tham Luong. The routes are 5, 6, 13, 14, 28, 30, 38, 65, 69, 103, DL01, DL02, and DL04. The diversions use sections of Cach Mang Thang Tam, Nguyen Thi Minh Khai, Suong Nguyet Anh, and Bui Thi Xuan, plus the Truong Chinh–Cach Mang Thang Tam–Ly Thuong Kiet–Hoang Van Thu intersection.

Not every bus turns the same way. Toward Cho Lon, routes 5 and 6 leave their usual pieces of Vo Van Tan, Ba Huyen Thanh Quan, and Nguyen Thi Minh Khai. The opposite direction stays put. Routes 13 and 65 go around the Bay Hien station site, ST07, and the Tao Dan station site, ST02. At Bay Hien the detour is Truong Chinh, Ly Thuong Kiet, and the Lac Long Quan roundabout, then back to Cach Mang Thang Tam. At Tao Dan it runs Nguyen Thi Minh Khai, Huyen Tran Cong Chua, Thu Khoa Huan, Le Thanh Ton, Pham Hong Thai, Nguyen Thi Nghia, and Le Lai. Routes 14, 28, 30, 69, and 103 change in one direction only. Route 38, Tan Quy to Dam Sen, changes in both. DL01, DL02, and DL04 lose pieces of their usual downtown run.

The centre’s advice is the practical one: from 10 October, read the updated route before you wait at the old stop. The photograph is Nguyen Thi Minh Khai at rush hour in 2020. It shows the street the buses are leaving. It does not show the 2026 barriers.
