22–26 October 2026. Opening on the morning of 22 October. A fee: Check on arrival.
Thursday morning is the time to be in the imperial city with ink on your fingers, if the festival does what its hosts described. Hue Ngay Nay reported on 20 October that the first Vietnam Calligraphy Festival runs from 22 to 26 October at Co Mat Vien, 33 Tong Duy Tan, Phu Xuan ward, under the theme “Vietnamese Soul through Brushstrokes.” It is led by the Vietnam Association of Artisans and Brands, with the Hue Monuments Conservation Centre and FTP Exhibition and Communications, and the paper places it inside Hue Festival 2026. The hosts expect 100 to 130 booths: clubs, calligraphers, artisans, researchers, and craft villages. The opening is on the morning of 22 October. The report does not print the hour, and it does not print a ticket. Check on arrival for both.
Two conversations are on the programme: Hán-Nôm calligraphy and the later life of Quốc ngữ, and how Hue’s handicrafts meet visitors. On 24 October there is a hands-on session for students and visitors on grinding ink, holding the brush, and the basic strokes. An auction is planned, with the proceeds described as support for heritage and charity. The photograph is the gate of Co Mat Vien, the building named as the venue.
