Ninh Binh has already passed this year’s visitor target
On 21 October the tourism director said Ninh Binh took more than 20.958 million visits in nine months, including more than 2.442 million from abroad. The English report prints two different revenue figures.

The boats are busy enough that the province has already done the year it planned. On 21 October, Bùi Văn Mạnh, director of the Ninh Binh Department of Tourism, told Xây dựng that the first nine months brought more than 20.958 million visits, including more than 2.442 million international visits. He tied that to a tourism week themed “Ninh Binh – A Journey of Heritage Through the Ages,” which the paper says drew more than 634,000 visits and nearly 974 billion đồng, up 30.84 percent and 29.83 percent on the year before. The same account credits the Tam Coc Golden Festival, the Trang An Creative Music Festival, and traditional performances for spreading visitors through the year. It also counts 1,558 accommodation places, more than 23,000 rooms, and 86 travel agencies.
Read the money twice, because the English text does not agree with itself. The introduction says revenue was nearly 22,000 billion đồng. The interview paragraph says revenue was over 21.979 billion đồng. Those are not the same number. The paragraph also says the result beat the annual plan by 4.79 percent and 9.89 percent “respectively,” without a clean pairing of those two margins to visitors and to revenue. This note prints both revenue lines and does not choose one. Mạnh’s own point, past the arithmetic, is that more visitors have to come with better service and with the landscape left standing. The photograph is boats at Trang An, the landscape those visitors are coming for.
