Beach lifestyle
Spend the day in the water and the evening on the sand. Kalà Kalà and East West face the surf, and the swim is the buoy line in front of them.
The swim in front of the chairs
Swim only where the safety buoys are set and a rescuer is on duty. Do not swim in bad weather, where a danger board forbids it, or after the end-of-duty signal.
The beaches here are swimmable all year, and best from May to August, when the waves are gentle. Rescue teams cover Hoang Sa, Vo Nguyen Giap, Truong Sa, and Nguyen Tat Thanh, on duty from about 05:00 until 19:00 or 20:00. The board on the sand has the day’s hours.
The beach is free. Ask the price of a chair or an umbrella before you sit.
Clubs and a coffee on the sand
Kalà Kalà Beach Club is at 51 Vo Nguyen Giap. Entry is free. It opens at 08:00 and closes at midnight or 02:00, so confirm the night you go.
Esco Beach is at Lo 12 Vo Nguyen Giap, a two-tier lounge on the same sand. Its own site lists 08:00 to midnight every day. East West Brewing’s beachfront taproom, by the shores of My Khe, pours from 08:00 to 01:00 every day. Neither room posts a drink price. Ask before you order.
Firebirds is the cocktail bar one lane inland, at 2D My Khe 7. It is not a beach club. For a coffee, take a chair facing the same water. The other inland lanes are An Thuong.
