Texture

Ordinary rice, soaked and ground with Cham well water, steams in cups over a charcoal fire until a swirl shows in the middle. The topping of shrimp, pork, and wood-ear mushroom stays soft, not dry. A brown sweet cake is served in some stalls and is still eaten with the salty topping.

Taste

The topping tastes of salty fish sauce made from island fish, and of sweet shrimp.

How to enjoy it

A tray is 6 to 10 cups. The seller gives a small bamboo knife, not chopsticks and not a spoon. Cut the cake and spear a piece.

In the afternoon, with bánh xèo chả cá, bánh canh, and mì Quảng.
