Where it comes from

The central coast, with bánh bèo and bánh nậm.

How to enjoy it

Order it with the other small steamed cakes.

In Dong Hoi the cake is hot cassava flour, filled with shrimp and pork, plain or in a banana leaf, and also fried, sometimes with mushroom and sour bamboo shoot, or wood-ear and mung bean.

Where to try it

In Da Nang, ordinary restaurants group bánh lọc with bánh bèo, bánh nậm, and bánh xèo, and it is on Con Market’s outdoor counters.

In Dong Hoi the cake is on Lê Thành Đồng and Đồng Hải. Chợ Đồng Hới also splits a hot loaf and fills it with shrimp cakes and mung-bean cakes, plus a hot sauce.
