The Vietnam National Authority of Tourism’s Tết-goods article, for Nhâm Dần 2022, follows Bahnar wine in làng Hven, thị trấn Đak Pơ, and a Jrai formula in Ia Piar, Phú Thiện. The 2020 Gia Lai food-festival note calls the same drink rượu ghè.
How to enjoy it
Drink it from the jar.
Đinh Thị Pldới’s Bahnar wine uses hạt cào cào and a leaf yeast. She told the article that a jar ran 400,000–700,000 VND because the plant is hard to grow.
Đinh Thị Chới, in the same village, ferments with rainwater. Her Tết jars that year were quoted from 250,000 to 700,000 VND.
Nay H’Lơm’s Jrai jars use leaf and root yeast with rice, corn, cassava, millet, rice husk, and charcoal, for family rites rather than the shop.
VnExpress, 29 May 2016, sets a jar beside the bamboo-skewer beef in Pleiku.
