Hanoi to Mai Chau
Take a bus, shuttle, or car on the road through Hoa Binh, about 140 km and two and a half to three hours. Leave in the morning to see the valley from Thung Khe pass on the way in.

- No. Go by road.

- The June–August monsoon can flood local roads. Check conditions on the day.
- What about going back to Hanoi?
- Use the same road east through Hòa Bình. Ask at your homestay for the current bus or shuttle.
