Dak Ke Lake Hồ Đắk Ke
The best-known lake on the plateau
Get to Dak Ke in the first hour of light, while mist still sits on the water and the shore path is quiet. It is the best-known of Mang Den’s lakes: walk the shore, take a canoe out or fish where it is offered, and find the traditional nhà rông by the water. If you have one morning and want a waterfall, go to Pa Sy instead.

Come early. The plateau is known for cloud at dawn, and Dak Ke is at its stillest before the day warms up. Walk the shore path under the trees, past old boats sitting low in the water, and look for the traditional nhà rông standing beside the lake.

Canoeing and fishing are offered on the lake. Ask at the shore what is running that morning. Then drive back through town, and spend the afternoon at Kon Pring on Highway 24 or on the 200 steps up to Khanh Lam pagoda.
Two quieter waters are nearby. The smaller Dak Ke waterfall is more remote, with a natural pool you can swim in once you reach it. The signs are poor, so ask in town for the path. Toong Dam is the still lake ringed by old trees, for a slower walk after Dak Ke.
