West-coast sand
Bãi Trường is the shore the night is for. The sunset, the music, and the bed are on this sand.
Sleep on Long Beach when the sunset and the evening are why you came. The north, at Gành Dầu, is the bed the park foothills keep clear of high-rise rooms.
The west-coast shore
Bãi Trường is gently sloping sand, about 20 km from Mũi Dinh Cậu to Khóe Tàu Rũ, called yellow, with clear green water, and the colour is also left unnamed. Swimming, food, cocktails, live music, DJs, and fire shows sit on this west coast, and the sunset over the ocean. Sunrise is also named for this shore.
No beach ticket is given. A future eco-tourism project, Thuận An, of more than 20 ha on the north of Bãi Trường in xã Dương Tơ, is described as allowed. It is not an open hotel.
Dương Đông after the swim
Dinh Cậu was built in 1937 for Cậu. It is also the place sailors pray to the goddess of the sea, and it is written Dinh Cau Temple and Dinh Cau Pagoda. The visit is the sunset, then the squid-boat lights.
The night market goes by three names: Phu Quoc Night Market on Bạch Đằng, with 50-plus stalls; Dương Đông seafood market; and chợ đêm Dinh Cậu, where the streets near the temple are closed to traffic from 5 pm until midnight, with 100-odd stalls, and also more than a hundred vendors. You choose the catch and have it grilled. Bún quây is the morning bowl on the harbour street and on Long Beach. Bún kèn is a noodle with a broth of dried fish, coconut milk, and a dash of curry powder.
Pepper gardens are the inland half of the same morning: aromatic and spicy, with a floral aroma and intense heat, and also pungent, over 1,000 tons a year. Pearl stalls sit in Dương Đông, at chợ đêm Dinh Cậu, at cảng An Thới, and at cảng Bãi Vòng. Fish sauce ages in the barrel houses: about 6 million litres a year and over 10 million litres a year, nitrogen 20–43 gN/lít and up to 40°N, and also trên 25ºC, salt at 2.5–3 fish to 1 salt for 12 months and also 3 tons of fish to 1 ton of salt for about a year, one workshop at 43 percent after 15 months. The catch is placed in the Gulf of Thailand and in the clear Andaman Sea.
The quiet north
Gành Dầu is the morning when you want the crowds behind you. The park foothills keep high-rise rooms off that beach. A flat hike under old trees and a coral garden for snorkelling are named there. The 45 km figure is the distance to Hà Tiên, not to Gành Dầu.
Bãi Thơm is the northern tip, still little developed, with a view toward Cambodia. A stop there is a coconut, a hotpot, or a seafood platter. Floating restaurants sit on Rạch Vẹm Beach, the village next to Starfish Beach. Starfish beach is also placed in Rạch Vẹm fishing village, about 20 km north of Dương Đông, with the catch cooked on the spot. Starfish are in the shallows. No season is named. Bioluminescent plankton is described at Starfish Beach, on the south of Long Beach, and on the north of Dat Do Beach, at the right times of year, with no months.
Vinpearl Safari Phú Quốc is the animal park in xã Gành Dầu, not a place to sleep. It is open 09:00–16:00 every day. Under 1 m is free. From 1 m to 1.4 m, and visitors over 60, pay 400,000 đồng. Over 1.4 m pays 500,000 đồng. It covers nearly 500 ha, of which phase 1 is 380 ha.
The park is a half-day trek or a motorbike ride, and also a 4-hour tour to Núi Chúa, 565 m, on the Hàm Ninh range. Hàm Ninh, 20 km northeast, has a 300 m mountain behind the village. The village plate is ghẹ luộc with muối tiêu chanh. The park area is given as over 31,422 ha, as 31,422 ha with 12,794 ha of forest, and as 36,262 ha.
An Thới and the cable
The prison walk is the fist monument, a cemetery, indoor and outdoor displays, a documentary, and models of the punishments. It is in An Thới, about 30 km southeast of Dương Đông, a national historic relic in 1996 and a special national relic in March 2015.
The Hòn Thơm cable car leaves from Bãi Đất Đỏ. Two return tariffs are in use: 850,000 đồng and 700,000 đồng from 1 January 2026, and 650,000 đồng and 500,000 đồng from 9 December 2023. Under 1 m is free on both. The 2026 runs are 09:30–11:30, 13:30–14:00, and 15:30–17:30. The 2023 hours are 9:00–11:30 and 13:30–17:00. The length is 7,899.9 m and 15 minutes, and also about 13 km. The ticket includes one same-day entry to Sun World Hon Thom, Làng Exotica, and Aquatopia. A south-island boat to Fingernail Island is a swim and a snorkel.
