Con Dao is a small island with two different doors. Dat Doc gives you the beach and the forested hill. Zone 1 keeps you closer to Con Son, the camps, Hang Duong cemetery, and the night market on Vo Thi Sau. Do not plan the prison, a boat to Hon Bay Canh, and a long beach afternoon as one unmarked hour. Hon Bay Canh is about 45 minutes by boat. Hon Tai is about 25 minutes. The scenic fee does not include the boat.

Best months are Check on arrival. A report on 16 May 2025 said the rainy season had started. The night market has no roof, and boat departures can move with the tide and the weather.
