Hoi An resort living
Quiet Ha My villa sand between the airport and town, a Cua Dai resort morning on the east beach, or a Thu Bon garden when the lantern streets should be a short walk.
Stay and tours
Hoi An asks you to pick a mood before you pick a bed. The timber streets, the swim, and the villa coast are three different doors. Floods are usual from September to November, and the rainy season runs October to December, so the town can be open and under water in the same month.
Best months are January to August. Fly into Da Nang International, then about 30 km southeast by road. Four Seasons Resort The Nam Hai prints that airport at 30 km, with 30 minutes in the directions table and about 40 minutes in the question block. Both clocks stay. A minute from the airport to An Bang or to a Cua Dai gate was not printed. Check on arrival for those rides.
Choosing your coast, bay, or valley
01 Quiet villa coast
Ha My
One hundred beachfront pool villas along a quiet stretch of Ha My sand, 35 minutes south of Da Nang Airport and 15 minutes from Hoi An. The lantern streets are an evening ride.
02 Resort morning, town night
Cua Dai
The sand east of town, with garden and fishing-village layouts. Erosion here is serious, so the swim most people want is An Bang, now in Hoi An Tay, a ride back from the timber streets.
03 Villa and homestay swim
An Bang
Closer to the water people actually enter than Cua Dai is now, and farther from a big resort gate. Use it when the morning should be the swim and the old town is still a planned ride.
04 Walkable lantern garden
Thu Bon riverbank
Gardens facing the river, less than a kilometre from the historic quarter. The beach is an outing. Inside the old town the streets are pedestrian-only, 09:00 to 21:30 in summer and 09:00 to 21:00 in winter.
