Sellers hang a sample on a long pole, the cây bẹo. Breakfast boats sell hủ tiếu, bún riêu, and coffee. The market’s trading culture was put on the national intangible-heritage list in 2016.
A second floating market sits at Phong Điền. Vietnam Airlines puts it about 17 km out by tỉnh lộ 923, best at 5:30–6:30, quieter than Cái Răng, with farmers selling from the garden onto the boats. The department and Vietnam Tourism do not give that market a clock or a fare. Do not borrow Cái Răng’s hours for it.
