Núi Một

You walk the only Buddhist pagoda on the island, on the slope of Núi Một, about 1.6 km from Côn Sơn town. The grounds cover 19,434 square metres. The hall was founded in 1964 for the families of the island’s administrators and soldiers, under deputy province chief Trần Văn Khỏe, and also as a hermitage under Hòa thượng Thích Tâm Giác. The altar is given as Thích Ca, Quan Âm, Quan Thánh, and Thiên Hậu, and also as Thích Ca, Quan Âm, and Địa Tạng. It stood until May 1975, then lost its rear roof, its doors, and its objects. Islanders later used the ground for Buddhist worship again.
