Gao Nang Thom Cho Dao Gạo Nàng Thơm Chợ Đào
A long-grain, one-crop rice from Mỹ Lệ in Chợ Đào, pink inside the grain and fragrant as soon as the pot boils, cooked glossy and sticky. The variety has faded since a dike ended the yearly flood, and the commune is restoring it.

The grain is long, pomegranate-pink when broken open, and glossy once cooked, as if tossed with oil.
Taste

The variety lost much of that character after a closed dike ended the yearly flood, salt, and silt, and chemical fertilizer tired the soil. The commune has marked 200 ha to restore it.
