Bùi Viện runs about 850 metres through the western quarter in District 1, crossing Đề Thám, Phạm Ngũ Lão, and Đỗ Quang Đẩu. It was branded the city’s second official walking street in 2017, and vehicles were banned. The hour is dinner through the night, and the quarter is a street that keeps going.

Bars, cafes, live music, and food stalls fill the walk. The plates on it are bánh mì, phở bò, and seafood, plus barbecue. The photograph is the crowd in the roadway after dark. The second frame is the same street with the tables out under the signs. Nguyễn Huệ is the other walking street, earlier in the evening.
The high-energy cocktail rooms sit a short ride east of this street, still in District 1, not on Bùi Viện itself. Yunka is at 80 Đồng Khởi: Nikkei dinner, then a bar and mini club with DJs until late. Bam Bam is listed at 41–43 Nam Kỳ Khởi Nghĩa. Sinners Room is listed at 104 Nam Kỳ Khởi Nghĩa.
