Hai Van gate

The 1826 gate on the pass is the lookout back onto this bay, and it is the south edge of the tourism zone.

Hải Vân Quan stands above 500 m on the Hue–Da Nang boundary. It was built in 1826 under Minh Mạng as the southern gate of the capital. Visitors have been allowed in since 1 Aug 2024, after restoration. Both cities manage it.

From 2 June 2026 the fee is 70,000 VND per person per visit, the same for domestic and international visitors, through 31 Dec 2028. VTV and VnExpress both report that figure from the Hue monuments center. VnExpress also prints 07:00–17:30 and a free entry under 1.2 m. Check the board.

The gate is on the pass road. The tunnel is the shorter way between Da Nang and Lang Co, and it does not pass the gate.
