Sampans rowed through the tower karst
Sit a sampan trip through the tower karst on sông Sào Khê, a guide rowing, for the valley’s main outing. The property is 6,226 ha with a 6,026 ha buffer, 6,172 ha with a 6,079 ha buffer, and about 12,252 ha. It lies about 90 km southeast of Hà Nội. The Tam Coc boat is a different ticket.

You sit low in the boat. Forested towers rise on both sides, up to 200 m on the UNESCO list, and the guide rows. The relics page names this water sông Sào Khê. The current World Heritage entry, after the 2016 boundary change, prints a property of 6,226 ha and a buffer of 6,026 ha, with about 14,000 residents. The 2014 inscription decision prints 6,172 ha and a buffer of 6,079 ha. The provincial tourism page says about 12,252 ha and does not say it added the two UNESCO lines. Keep all three figures.

A 2017 tourism itinerary prints 31 lakes and 48 caves, and names hang Địa Linh, hang Sinh Dược, and hang Mây, with a water cave of 2 km among them. UNESCO prints no cave count. Do not treat 31 and 48 as the World Heritage figure. The board’s ticket page prints no boat duration and no gate hour. Both are Check on arrival.

Getting there and around
Sleep in the Hoa Lư valley and the wharf is the first move. From Ga Ninh Bình you need a ride. No minute from the station was printed. Check on arrival. The tourism page puts the landscape about 90 km southeast of Hà Nội. Bái Đính’s about 100 km is a different end. Do not average them.

From Hanoi
By train to Ga Ninh Bình, then a ride. SE7 is 06:00–08:16, 2 hours 16 minutes, at kilometre 115. Road minutes to the wharf were not printed. Check on arrival.
