Mountains

You land from the boat and look at the Nang dropping through stacked limestone. The fall has three sections: a steep first drop, a second reach that divides in two, and a third that slows among the rocks. It sits about 3 km west of the lake, on the Thai Nguyen–Tuyen Quang line. Older lines still call that the Bac Kan–Tuyen Quang line. The blockage is at ban Hua Tang, after the river has passed Lung Nham and Puong. In March and April, after the first rains, schools of fish run the fall, including chiên, some of them tens of kilograms. The water is white all year. This stop shares the long boat with Puong Cave.

The size figures do not agree. The height is about 53 m, and the water is also given at 85 m. The slope of the stacked rock is estimated at 500 m. That 500 m is the slope, not the drop. The fall is about 2 km long, and also longer than 1,000 m, in three tiers 3–4 m apart. Minutes ashore are Check on arrival.

Getting there and around

The fall is the west end of the long boat, not a second day. From Pac Ngoi or Bo Lu the boat includes it when the circuit is the long one, the same boat that goes through Puong. Minutes ashore are Check on arrival.

From the lake

By boat toward the west end, about 3 km. The river passes Lung Nham and Puong before the blockage at ban Hua Tang. Minutes are Check on arrival.
