This section of road ended Ngọc Hiển’s isolation from a car road. Phase 1 was finished in 2016. The alignment is drawn as cấp III đồng bằng, design speed 80 km/h, and the cross-section still matches cấp V, about 40 km/h. Come in the morning so the gate farther south is still open. That gate runs 07:00–18:00, or 06:30–17:30.

Getting there and around
Ride south from the city on Quốc lộ 1 to Năm Căn, then the Hồ Chí Minh road. The ride to the town is more than 50 km and more than an hour, then more than 50 km beyond. The measured cape section, 58.7 km, starts at cầu Ông Tình.
