Sacred hill of temples in Vĩnh Tế
Sacred hill in Vĩnh Tế: give a morning to the temple cluster, and longer if you climb for the plain. About 200 religious sites sit on the slopes. The walk at the foot takes in Bà Chúa Xứ, Tây An, the cave pagoda, and the Thoại Ngọc Hầu tomb. The path up, and any cable car, is a separate effort.

Núi Sam is the national tourism hill above Châu Đốc, in phường Vĩnh Tế. The 2026 festival of Bà Chúa Xứ opened here. About 200 large and small religious sites sit on the slopes. The useful morning is the cluster at the foot: Miếu Bà Chúa Xứ, Lăng Thoại Ngọc Hầu, Chùa Tây An, and Chùa Hang, also called Phước Điền.

Walk those halls first. Climb, or ride a cable car if one is running, when you want the plain and the sugar palms from above. From the first lunar month through the Via festival, crowds run from early morning until late. Come outside that window if the buildings are the point.
The hill is about 5 to 7 km from the city, on the road up from Long Xuyen. The cable car, when it is running, is a separate ride.
Getting there and around
The hill is in phường Vĩnh Tế, a short road from the river wards of Châu Đốc, about 5 to 7 km. It sits outside the town ward formed from Vĩnh Nguơn, Châu Phú A, Châu Phú B, Vĩnh Mỹ, and part of Vĩnh Châu. The road up from Long Xuyen is provincial road 10.
