Mai Chau to Moc Chau
Stay on National Highway 6. It climbs out of the Mai Chau valley over Thung Khe pass and into Son La province to the Moc Chau plateau. Buses heading for Son La use the same road.

- Is the Hoa Binh–Moc Chau expressway open?
- No. It is still under construction, with opening planned for the first quarter of 2028. Use National Highway 6.
- Can I go the other way, Moc Chau to Mai Chau?
- Yes. Take National Highway 6 southeast over Thung Khe pass into the Mai Chau valley.
