Bai Tu Long Bay Vịnh Bái Tử Long

The bay east of Ha Long

The bay east of Ha Long: take one of ten boat routes from Ao Tien or Cam Pha. An April 2025 provincial report charges no entrance fee, only the boat and the port. Three connecting routes leave from Ha Long route 4. Use it when you want a quieter day than the main caves.

Bái Tử Long is the water east of Hạ Long, with its own national park in Vân Đồn. Decision 2119 of 19 July 2024 lists ten boat routes. They leave from Cảng Ao Tiên and from the ports in Cẩm Phả, and they include Cái Lim beach, hang Nhà Trò, hang Cái Đé, the Máng Hà overnight anchorage, and làng chài Cống Lão Vọng.

Three more routes connect Hạ Long route 4 to Vân Đồn and to Cẩm Phả. A January 2026 patrol note still folds Bái Tử Long into the Hạ Long watch. You reach this bay by boat from Ao Tiên or Cẩm Phả. The park board is in thôn 8, đặc khu Vân Đồn.

Getting there and around

The ten routes start at Cảng Ao Tiên in Vân Đồn or at the ports in Cẩm Phả. From Bãi Cháy you continue to one of those ports and board there. Three connecting routes pick up Ha Long route 4 and go on to islands in Vân Đồn or to Cẩm Phả.

From Ao Tien

Cảng Ao Tiên, Vân Đồn. Routes BTL1 through BTL6 start here, including Cái Lim, Nhà Trò, Cái Đé, and the Máng Hà overnight stop.

From Cam Pha

Routes BTL7 through BTL10 start at the Cẩm Phả ports and run toward Lương Ngọc, Vụng Đục, and the islands off Cửa Ông.
