Japanese dining alleys off Lê Thánh Tôn
Japanese alleys off Lê Thánh Tôn: eat between the lanterns, for a quieter night than Bùi Viện. The walk runs along Lê Thánh Tôn into Thái Văn Lung, Thi Sách, and Ngô Văn Năm. Come at lunch, from 11:00 to 14:00, or from 17:00 when the kitchens fill. Most close at 22:00. Skip the mid-afternoon if you came to eat.

The alleys sit where Lê Thánh Tôn meets Thái Văn Lung, with Thi Sách and Ngô Văn Năm on the same walk. VnExpress, on 2 March 2020, puts the Lê Thánh Tôn stretch at 300 metres. Tuổi Trẻ, on 13 January 2024, describes the alleys as less than 2 km and counts more than 300 Japanese households. You eat sushi, sashimi, ramen, and tempura, and you sit in the cafes behind wooden signs and noren.

Alley 15B Lê Thánh Tôn is the older lane, with a graffiti wall along it. Alley 8A Thái Văn Lung is the lane of lights. By day the streets are quiet enough to look. From 17:00 the kitchens greet you from the doorways. The sound stays inside. Bùi Viện is the loud night, out in the roadway. This walk is the meal.
