A long beach under the Hai Van ridge
Swim and walk a gentle bay under the pass, between Hue and Da Nang. No beach ticket is set. Skip it if you wanted a city promenade or the citadel. Come in the morning or late afternoon, when the ridge is still in the light.

Swim and walk. The shore runs about 10 km beside Highway 1A under Hải Vân: a gentle beach, white sand, clear water, and beach games. It is a resort beach, separate from a city promenade. Addresses still used for it are thị trấn Lăng Cô, huyện Phú Lộc, and xã Chân Mây - Lăng Cô.

Come in the morning or late afternoon if you want the ridge in the light. Summer is the season for the swim. A lifeguard hour is check on arrival, and so is a fixed visit length.
Do not treat the sand as a ticketed park. No beach ticket is set. Hue, about 60 km north, is the citadel day. Da Nang is the city beach. The mistake is booking one of those when the picture you wanted was this bay at breakfast.
Getting there and around
The beach is the base if you sleep on the strip. Highway 1A runs beside it. Minutes from Ga Lăng Cô or from Nguyễn Văn are check on arrival.
From Hue
About 60 km south. Drive minutes are check on arrival.
From Da Nang
About 25 km through the Hải Vân road tunnel. The pass road is longer, and it is the road that reaches the gate. Drive minutes are check on arrival.
