The four towers stand on a hill between two branches of the Kon River, Tân An and Cầu Gành, beside National Highway 1. From a distance the outline is the bánh ít cake that gave the group its everyday name. The French record calls it Tour d'Argent, the Silver Tower. Each tower has its own plan. The Ministry of Culture and Information ranked the group an architecture-and-art relic in 1982.
