You wake on a long crescent of yellow sand, fairly clear and blue, buildings along Xuân Diệu a short walk from the water, with Kỳ Co and Eo Gió waiting a day away. Stay here when that night on the crescent is the trip. Go to Da Nang, 300 km up the coast, when that city is the trip, or continue south toward Nha Trang.
The city beach is free, open 6:00–23:00, with a listed visit of 60 minutes. Kỳ Co is a separate cove, nearly 25 km away, its own sand with hills on three sides. The distance is not split into road and boat.
Evening is Xuân Diệu, for seafood and a cafe on the sand, then Quảng trường Nguyễn Tất Thành, 6.5 ha on the avenue of that name. The square is free and open 6:00–22:00. Horse carts leave from Xuân Diệu near the square, along Xuân Diệu or An Dương Vương. The square names New Year fireworks and Festival võ Bình Định.
Cầu Thị Nại is the span on the road toward the peninsula, called the longest sea bridge, at 2,477.3 m and 54 spans, on a road of more than 7 km that also has five shorter bridges. Cross by day, and again after dark when the lamps are on. The lagoon is 8 km northeast. The 7:00–18:00 line does not close the road.
A day across the bridge is Phương Mai. Eo Gió is the rock saddle: 25,000 đồng, children under 0.9 m free, open 7:00–19:00. The sunset is called the finest in Vietnam, and the sunrise is called the finest. The calm window is lunar month 3 through the end of lunar month 9. Stay away when the sea is rough. Kỳ Co is listed at 30,000–60,000 đồng. That range is separate from Eo Gió’s 25,000 đồng.
South of the center, Ghềnh Ráng is about 3 km and free: egg-shaped stones, and the cove called bãi tắm Hoàng Hậu because Nam Phương Hoàng Hậu bathed there. Bãi Xếp is 13 km south on the Quy Nhơn–Sông Cầu road. Inside the city, Tháp Đôi is the late-12th-century Cham pair, 20,000 đồng, open 7:00–18:00, in Phường Quy Nhơn and also in phường Đống Đa. Tháp Bánh Ít, about 20 km away, is a different site.
