Pac Bo Pác Bó

Walk Coc Bo cave and the Lenin stream at Pac Bo, about 55 km north of Cao Bang city. The cave is small, and the stream runs in front of it. Give the visit a half day from town, including the drive. Do not add Ban Gioc. The roads leave in different directions. The fee is check on arrival.

Pac Bo means the mouth of the spring. It sits at Truong Ha, in Ha Quang, at km 0 of the Ho Chi Minh Road, about 55 km north of the city on provincial road 203. Coc Bo is the cave where Ho Chi Minh stayed from 8 February 1941 to the middle of March 1941. The floor is about 80 square metres, and the mouth fits one person.

He named the stream in front of the cave Lenin, and the hill beside it Karl Marx. A restored stone table, about 80 by 50 cm and about 60 cm high, stands outside where he worked. The original table has been in the Ho Chi Minh Museum since 1978. The site was listed as a special national relic on 10 May 2012.

Pac Bo is at Truong Ha, in Ha Quang, about 55 km north of Cao Bang city on provincial road 203. Hire a car or a motorbike in the city. Minutes on the road are check on arrival.

Come to Cao Bang city first. Pac Bo is a further 55 km north the next day, not a stop on the way into town.
