Sam Mountain pilgrimage
One morning in phường Vĩnh Tế for the hill, the shrine, Tây An, the cave pagoda, and the tomb.
About 200 large and small religious sites are scattered on the slopes. The foot of the hill is Miếu Bà Chúa Xứ, Chùa Tây An, Chùa Hang (Phước Điền), and Lăng Thoại Ngọc Hầu.
The climb, and any cable car, is a different effort from those halls. From the first lunar month through the Via festival, the halls are crowded from early morning.
Sam Mountain The sacred hill in phường Vĩnh Tế. Walk the halls at the foot, then climb if you want the plain. The distance is given as about 5 km and about 7 km. 
Ba Chua Xu Temple Miếu Bà Chúa Xứ at the foot of the hill. Offerings on the steps, and the statue found on the mountain about 200 years ago. Come early outside festival days. 
Tay An Pagoda Chùa Tây An, on the same foot-of-the-hill walk as the shrine and the tomb. The visit is the facade and the garden of stupas. 
Cave Pagoda Chùa Hang, also called Phước Điền, on the slope. It is a climb, and the view from it reaches toward the plain. 
Thoai Ngoc Hau Tomb Lăng Thoại Ngọc Hầu at the mountain, not at the market. The 2026 festival moves his spirit tablet between this ground and the shrine.
