River walk
Dragon Bridge breathing fire on a weekend night, coffee and a young coconut on Bach Dang, the bridge that turns for ships, and the market hall beside it.
The bridges
Dragon Bridge is the weekend fire show, at 21:00 on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, and it is not the swing bridge. Stand on Bach Dang or on the east bank. Thuan Phuoc is where the Han meets the sea, on the way toward Son Tra.
Dragon Bridge The yellow dragon over the Han breathes fire, then water, at 21:00 on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Free from the bank. Do not wait on a weeknight.
Thuan Phuoc Bridge The 1,856-meter suspension bridge where the Han meets the sea, on the road toward Son Tra. Cross it on the way to Linh Ung. The promenade
Walk Bach Dang when you want the river, a coffee, and a young coconut in the same hour. The swing bridge and Han Market are that same walk. Watching from the bank is free. The swing bridge turns late, around 23:00 on weekend nights, so check the time before you wait.
Bach Dang The promenade of cafes on the Han, busy in the early morning and late afternoon, and packed on a weekend night before the dragon. The walk is free.
Swing bridge The 487.7-meter bridge from Le Duan to Pham Van Dong, whose middle span pivots about 90 degrees for ships late at night. Watching from the bank is free.
Han Market The hall beside the swing bridge, for fruit, dried food, fish sauce, and a meal you eat in the building.
