The sand is in the city, at the mouth, not down a highway. Pale beach, a low line of casuarina, and fishing boats using the channel are the picture the ward page describes. It calls the water clear and names sunset as the hour to be there. The heritage list places Cửa Nhật Lệ in the old Hải Thành ward and Bảo Ninh commune.

The coast of the old city is given as 12 km on the ward page and on a provincial tour card. That card also prints a free label on the city stop. No beach-ticket page was opened, so the fee is check on arrival, not a copied “free.” Hours are check on arrival. A best month was not on a page that loaded.
Walk here if the night is on Nhật Lệ or on Bảo Ninh, the peninsula across the water and still this city. From the airport the center is 6 km south. Minutes from the terminal were not printed. Bàu Tró, the freshwater lake just inland, has no second licensed photograph, so it is not a card on this walk.
Getting there and around
The beach is at the Nhật Lệ mouth, on the east side of the center. Walk from a beachfront room or from Bảo Ninh across the bridge. From Đồng Hới Airport, 6 km south into town. The minutes and a taxi fare are check on arrival.
