Basket boats in the nipa water
Ride a round basket boat through the nipa palms at Cẩm Thanh, about 3 km from the old town, where the palms were brought from the Mekong delta about 200 years ago. Plan a boat hour, early in the morning or after 15:30. Entry is a flat fee per person, and the boat is paid separately.

The ride is a basket boat through the nipa palms at Võng Nhi, Cẩm Thanh, now inside Hoi An Đông. The palms were brought from the Mekong delta about 200 years ago, and the name still says seven mẫu though the water is larger now. The city has approved 17 boat routes: lively and quiet ones in the centre, two through the biosphere buffer and the bamboo-and-coconut craft village, and two quiet routes beyond.

Plan a boat hour, not a museum morning. A wooden boat runs about 45 minutes. Come early in the morning or after 15:30, and expect the commune to stop the basket boats in bad weather.
Entry is 30,000 VND a person a visit from 10 August 2026. The boat is not included, so agree its price at the landing before you get in.
