Kim Bong Carpentry Village Làng mộc Kim Bồng

Carpentry village across the river

Cross the Thu Bồn to the carpentry village opposite the old town, where wood has been worked since about the 16th century. Watch a carving demonstration, see the boatyards, and try a cut yourself. The carved houses of the old town are this village’s work. Give it a morning.

Kim Bồng sits on the south bank of the lower Thu Bồn, opposite the ancient town, in what was Cẩm Kim. The village dates to about the 16th century and still works wood in four lines: building timber, household wood, boatbuilding, and decorative carving. The old town’s carved houses, including Quân Thắng, are credited to its carpenters.

Go in the morning. This is a working village across the river, not a hall on Trần Phú.
