Quan Thang Old House Nhà cổ Quân Thắng
Old house open to two streets
A one-storey merchant house more than 150 years old that runs through from Trần Phú to Nguyễn Thái Học. Kim Bồng carpenters cut its woodwork, and the court behind is lined with Chinese ceramics around a sky well and a rockery. Step inside for that court rather than only photographing the tiled front.

Quân Thắng is one of the old houses that still shows how a merchant family lived: more than 150 years old, in the style of the Chinese coast, with woodwork by Kim Bồng carpenters. The one-storey plan runs through from Trần Phú to Nguyễn Thái Học, so you enter on one street and the back is the other.

Inside are the Hội An details: a kẻ chuyền roof frame, a small covered space looking onto a sky well with a chồng rường truss, a crab-shell roof opposite the well, and walls of Chinese ceramics around that court, with a rockery. That court is the reason to go in.
Old houses are optional stops on the old-town ticket. Ask at the booth which ticket covers this one.
