Thanh Ha Pottery Village Làng gốm Thanh Hà
Pottery village west of the old town
The pottery village about 3 km west of the old town on the Thu Bồn, where potters have worked for more than 500 years and still throw at the wheel. Its kilns made the yin-yang roof tiles on the old houses. Watch the potters, walk the terracotta park, and look for the small red clay animals. Give it a morning.

Thanh Hà is in khối Nam Diêu, Thanh Hà ward, on the bank of the Thu Bồn about 3 km west of the old town. The trade is more than 500 years old and was busiest in the 16th and 17th centuries, when its pots and tiles were traded through the port. The village made the yin-yang roof tiles on the old houses.

The visit is the wheel and the yards that still use the old technique. The terracotta park, more than 6,500 square metres with two buildings shaped like kilns, keeps the village’s pots. Village tradition says the first potters came from Nghệ An and Thanh Hóa.
Go in the morning. This is the village that still throws pots, not the Museum of Trade Ceramics on Trần Phú, which holds the old trade ware.
