Museum of Trade Ceramics Bảo tàng Gốm sứ Mậu dịch
Trade ceramics in a tube house
A nineteenth-century wooden house at 80 Trần Phú holding 368 trade ceramics from the 9th to the 19th century, all dug up in Hoi An. The house is the other exhibit: front, bridge, and back around a sky well, with a balcony over the tiled street. Give it a museum hour.

The museum is the two-storey wooden house at 80 Trần Phú, set up in 1995 with help from Japanese specialists. The collection is 368 objects from the 9th and 10th centuries through the 19th, found at archaeological sites in Hoi An: the trade ceramics of the years when ships from East Asia and Europe used the port.

The house is the other reason to go in. It follows the old-town plan: a front house, a back house, and a bridge section between them, with an open sky well in the middle and the kitchen at the rear. From the balcony you look down the street of tiled roofs.
It is open every day except the 15th of the month. Museums are the extra stop on the larger combination ticket.
