Tomb of Minh Mang Lăng Minh Mạng
Straight garden tomb where the rivers meet
Minh Mang’s tomb runs on one straight axis of about 700 m, from Đại Hồng Môn past lakes, bridges, and pavilions to the burial hill, where the Tả Trạch and Hữu Trạch meet to form the Perfume River. Walk it end to end in the morning, before the heat. It is on the four-site ticket with Tu Duc and Khai Dinh.

The visit is a straight walk. The centre places the tomb at the old ấp An Bằng, Hương Trà, where the Tả Trạch and Hữu Trạch meet to form the Perfume River. The king renamed the hill Hiếu Sơn. A spirit way of about 700 m runs from Đại Hồng Môn to the rampart behind the tomb, inside a rampart of about 1,750 m, with lakes and pine hills. Thiệu Trị finished it after Minh Mạng died.
