Perfume River walk Sông Hương

The dusk path between the two banks

The river walk at the centre of Hue: a path from Truong Tien Bridge to Nghinh Lương Đình, the old royal landing, with Kỳ Đài, the 1807 flag tower, across the water on the north bank. Walk it at dusk, at the end of a citadel or tomb day. Paths run on both banks, and the path is kept for walkers.

Kỳ Đài, the flag tower built in 1807 under Gia Long in three tiers, is the landmark on the north bank. Nghinh Lương Đình is the old royal landing, where the king stopped in summer and the royal boats tied up.

Make it the evening of a citadel or tomb day rather than a trip of its own. The night streets of phố Tây are close by when the walk is done.

Getting there and around
