Tu Hieu Pagoda Chùa Từ Hiếu
Pine-hill monastery in Thủy Xuân
A working monastery in the pines of Thủy Xuân, about 5 km from the centre, named by Tự Đức and the resting place of Nguyễn court eunuchs. Walk through the triple gate past the pond to the halls on the hillside. Go after Thien Mu for a quieter pagoda, and because Thích Nhất Hạnh was a novice here.

Từ Hiếu sits in Dương Xuân Thượng III village, Thủy Xuân ward, hidden in pines on the hillside, with a campus of about 8 acres and a curved ditch in front. It is about 5 km from the centre. The same page says the pagoda is the resting place of Nguyễn eunuchs, and that Tự Đức gave it the name Từ Hiếu.

Vietnam Tourism names it as the monastery where Thích Nhất Hạnh was a novice. Treat it as a working monastery after Thien Mu, not as a second citadel.
The city route is Điện Biên Phủ, then Lê Ngô Cát, then the sign. Go by motorbike, car, or taxi.
Getting there and around
