You step off the boat onto cù lao Thới Sơn, fruit trees over the path and a sampan in the nipa, with coconut candy and đờn ca tài tử at the garden house. The Tiền is the water you just crossed. Back on the town bank you are on the embankment along đường 30 Tháng 4, boats on the river and vườn hoa Lạc Hồng at Trưng Trắc.

Stay the night if that river, and the morning on Thới Sơn, is the trip. The four islets are not one island. Lân is cù lao Thới Sơn, in phường Thới Sơn, 6 km from the city. Phụng is Tân Thạch, on the Ben Tre bank. Cầu Rạch Miễu carries National Route 60. The project is 8,331 m and the bridge 2,878 m, and the main bridge is also 2,868 m with the same 8,331 m overall. From Ho Chi Minh City the road is 70 km and about 1 hour on the Ho Chi Minh City–Trung Lương expressway, by bus, and also 66 km and 1.7 hours toward Mỹ Tho, with 67 km and 1.7 hours toward Sài Gòn. No airport sits in the Mỹ Tho wards. Travelers who fly use Tân Sơn Nhất and then that road.

There is no passenger train. The Sài Gòn–Mỹ Tho railway ran from 1885 and stopped in 1958, about 70 km. On 10 October 2025 that was still the account. A Ho Chi Minh City–Cần Thơ line is still in pre-feasibility, 175.2 km, with no Mỹ Tho station named. The old station site is vườn hoa Lạc Hồng, on đường 30/4 and đường Trưng Trắc.

The intercity bus station is on đường Ấp Bắc. The base itself is a walk along đường 30 Tháng 4 and đường dọc kè sông Tiền.

The electric cart parks at Cảng du thuyền Mỹ Tho, số 01 Hoàng Sa, phường Mỹ Tho. Two loops, each 7,000 m and 20–30 minutes, 07:00–22:00 every day. Route 1 is 40,000 VND a guest and passes the pier, Cầu Quay, Nhà Bạch Công Tử on Đinh Bộ Lĩnh, Chùa Vĩnh Tràng, the museum, and Vincom Plaza Mỹ Tho on Hùng Vương. Route 2 is 30,000 VND.
