Fishing village on the east shore
East fishing village: walk the pier under the mountain, 20 km northeast of Dương Đông. Núi Hàm Ninh rises 300 m behind the houses, with clear, gently sloping water in front and Hòn Nghệ to the southeast. The plate is boiled crab with muối tiêu chanh. Come for the morning light at Bãi Vòng.

Walk the pier, the shore, and the market street. Làng chài Hàm Ninh sits in xã Hàm Ninh, 20 km northeast of thị trấn Dương Đông, under núi Hàm Ninh. The mountain is 300 m. The water in front is clear and gently sloping. Hòn Nghệ lies to the southeast, and Mũi Ông Đội is the southern point of the island. The temporary pier at Bãi Vòng is the place for morning and evening light, and pearl fishing is part of the village’s work. The plate is boiled crab, ghẹ luộc, with muối tiêu chanh. The crabs are rosy and speckled, and the smaller ones carry more flavour.

Núi Chúa, at 565 m, is a different summit on the Hàm Ninh range. The village mountain is the 300 m one. Hàm Ninh, Cửa Cạn, and Rạch Tràm are fishing villages you can reach by boat, and Hàm Ninh is one of four camping spots. Suối Tranh is about 10 km from Dương Đông on the same road, so the stream and the pier fit one east day.
Getting there and around
Ride 20 km northeast of Dương Đông to xã Hàm Ninh. The Dương Đông–Hàm Ninh road also passes Suối Tranh at about 10 km. A motorbike, a taxi, or a minibus is the land ride. You can also come by boat, with Cửa Cạn and Rạch Tràm.
