From the rim the Nho Quế reads as a turquoise line in Tu Sản. The walls run 700 to 800 metres. Side road 193A leaves QL4C at the bottom of Mã Pì Lèng and drops closer to the bends.

June is the full-river month. A boat or a kayak runs then, under the cliffs. Winter water sits lower. Ask for the boat fare and the time on the water at the landing. The look from the pass is the morning stop. The boat is a separate outing.
Getting there and around
The view is the Mã Pì Lèng morning, on the road from Đồng Văn to Mèo Vạc. Mèo Vạc is 24 km from Đồng Văn and takes most of a morning with stops. At the bottom of the pass, side road 193A turns off QL4C toward the river.
Stop where the shoulder allows. Ride in daylight. The sky path above the river is a separate walk of 500 metres, about two hours, through Flower Hmong villages.

Look down from the rim, or turn onto side road 193A at the bottom of the pass for a closer view of the bends.
From Dong Van
The pass road toward Mèo Vạc. 24 km, most of a morning if you stop. Daylight only.
