The pines run beside QL4C on the way into Yên Minh. Pull off, cool down, and stretch. In June the rain brings new needles, a pine smell, and a drop in temperature under the canopy compared with the lower valleys.

Yên Minh is the first night on the four-day road, after lunch in Tam Sơn. The afternoon ride follows the Mien River, climbs a canyon, and crosses the karst before the town. The forest is the shade break on that stretch. Finish in daylight.
Getting there and around
From Hà Giang town, QL4C runs north through Heaven’s Gate and Tam Sơn, then on toward Yên Minh. The pines stand beside that highway. The town is the overnight.
Xã Yên Minh is the 2025 commune. Older pages still say the town. The next morning’s road continues toward Sà Phìn and Đồng Văn. Leave in daylight.
From Ha Giang town
QL4C past Tam Sơn. The pines are the shade stop on the afternoon ride. Stay in Yên Minh.
From Quan Ba
Continue on QL4C. The road follows the Mien River, then a canyon, before Yên Minh.
