Hmong palace at Sa Phin
Hmong palace at Sà Phìn: walk three stone-and-wood courts on the ride to Đồng Văn, open 7:30 to 17:00. This is the house of Vương Chính Đức, with carved wood and a stone bath. It sits about 14 km from Đồng Văn town, and about 15 km from the center of xã Đồng Văn. Arrive while the gate is open.

Walk the three courts. The house uses green stone, po mu wood, and tile, with dragon, phoenix, and bat carving. Vương Chính Đức built it as a residence, and the rooms include a stone bath. A wood frame, a Chinese plan, and French and Hmong work sit in the same building.

Work began in 1898 and finished in 1907. The house was named a national architectural relic in 1993. Sà Phìn is the food and fuel stop on QL4C before Đồng Văn, so the courts fit inside that ride. Come in daylight and be through the gate before 17:00.
Getting there and around
The palace is in thôn Sà Phìn, xã Sà Phìn, tỉnh Tuyên Quang. Older pages still say Sa Phin commune in the former Hà Giang province. From Đồng Văn town the distance is about 14 km. From the center of xã Đồng Văn it is about 15 km, on QL4C.
Sà Phìn is the food and fuel stop before the old quarter. The gate is open 7:30 to 17:00 every day. An adult ticket is about 20,000 đồng, and under 1.2 m is free. The adult figure is approximate.
From Ha Giang town
QL4C through Yên Minh to Sà Phìn, the food and fuel stop before Đồng Văn. Walk the courts on that stop. Ride in daylight and arrive before 17:00.
From Dong Van
About 14 km back toward Sà Phìn from Đồng Văn town, and about 15 km from the center of xã Đồng Văn.
